How does it work?
Two days later (thanks 2-day Prime shipping!) you’ll be given a four-hour window for when the delivery will arrive. As the delivery driver arrives at your home, the app on your smartphone will send you an “arriving now” notification. This gives you an opportunity to go into the app and watch the delivery if you’d like to.
Just in case you’re actually home, the delivery driver will knock before requesting access to your Amazon Key via their handheld scanner. The scanner then verifies that the driver is near the intended place of delivery and that your package is due to be delivered.
Once it is verified, Amazon unlocks the door remotely. The unlocking of the door activates the camera so you can watch and make sure no sneaky business happens while you’re not home. The package is then placed just inside, and the driver steps back outside to request that the door be locked again. Customers get another notification when delivery is complete.
