FBI Investigation On Hillary Clinton
Despite Chair of the Democratic National Committee Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s claim that the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email is a simple inquiry – that simply isn’t the truth. A number of Clinton surrogates have also trumpeted the message that the FBI has expended a great deal of resources over an issue that isn’t that big of deal. Released emails have already proven Hillary Clinton took public positions during her tenure as Secretary of State, while pushing the opposite agenda in private.
However, that is the least of her worries and the Democratic establishment that fear the changes Bernie Sanders would bring to the party if he were indeed the nominee. Former Clinton aid Bryan Pagliano was granted immunity from the FBI for his cooperation, which is a situation that should not be ignored as events continue to unfold. Pagliano was the individual who personally set up the private server that is at the center of the matter.
FBI Director James Comey responded directly to individuals stating the the FBI is conducting a “security inquiry” on the issue:
I don’t know what that means. We’re conducting an investigation. That’s the bureau’s business. That’s what we do.
When a reporter retorted that Secretary Clinton has called the investigation a “security inquiry” he responded:
The word “investigation” — “it’s in our name. And I’m not familiar with the term ‘security inquiry’.
He made further comments on the investigation:
We want to do it well and we want to do it promptly. I feel pressure to do both of those things – as between the two things, we will always choose ‘well’.
In regards to a specific deadline Director Comey was quite clear:
I don’t tether to any external deadline.
Biden’s Involvement
Recently Vice President Joe Biden has made several curious comments regarding the Presidential race.
I planned on running. It’s an awful thing to say: I think I would have been the best president.
On why he didn’t seek the Democratic nomination:
No one should ever seek the presidency unless they’re able to devote their whole heart and soul and passion into just doing that. And Beau was my soul. I just wasn’t ready to be able to do that.
Beau Biden passed away from brain cancer last May. After the Vice President made those statements, staffers close to him told Politico that he would have selected Progressive favorite Elizabeth Warren from Massachusetts as his running mate. Within politics statements of this magnitude are never a coincidence or without purpose. Young Turks Host Cenk Uygur discussed the issue in depth below.
What Happens If Indictment Comes
Uygur could be correct and the establishment would quickly prop the Vice President up as the new nominee; however there is a distinct possibility that Hillary Clinton would continue
her campaign even with that albatross directly over her. Numerous findings about her various convenient flipping on issues, comments on Iraq, her affinity for Henry Kissinger, monetary attachment to Wall Street, dismissal of Black Lives Matter advocates, and numerous other scandals of varying degree have yet to waver her core supporters.
Those who support the Democratic establishment with little hesitation have shown that seemingly nothing will deter them from supporting Hillary Clinton. Therefore, there is a possibility that she stays in the race even with an indictment looming over her. While her core supporters will remain, it’s safe to project that her little support among swing voters (as compared to Senator Bernie Sanders) would immediately evaporate – even if she is running against Donald Trump.
The Democratic establishment will almost certainly not support Senator Sanders under any scenario. Just this last week the Washington Post Editorial Board praised an article released from a pro establishment tax policy think tank that gave a false depiction of the Sanders’ tax proposals. This standard of practice has been followed by national reporters, online establishment outlets, and every individual that chooses to correctly analyze the Sanders tax plan.
Those at the DNC would definitely do everything in their power to make sure Sanders did not become the nominee, likely next President, and implement plans that would give more power to the working and middle classes of the United States. The facts regarding their view of Senator Sanders are undeniable and has been in the forefront throughout the nomination process.
